I've got some major spawning behavior in a school of Roberti tetra's (Hysibricon Robertii) right now. Occaisonally, a single fry will survive the predation of the community tank to adulthood, but given the random availability of the fish, I'd really like to increase the survival rate.

Everytime I've tried removing the adults to a seperate tank so that I might collect the eggs, Spawning behavior has immediately ceased.  Any Ideas?

Keywords: roberti, spawning, tetras

You could try separating the sexes and conditioning them in single gender tanks then combining them for a spawn.

Yeah, that would be the best thing I could think of.  Keep the males and females seperate, feed them really well.  Set up a suitable sized tank with a slightly lowered pH and then once the females are fat, put them together.  Once they have been seperated fish are usually eager to get down to business once reunited:)
